The Fir is a pretty traditional longboard shape. It carries a soft rail through the tail which helps lock you in and feel more control while on the nose. The outline has a wider hip behind the center point, that gives you a pivot point to turn off of and helps with stability while getting up to the nose.
*Standard glass job is 6oz Bottom & 6/6oz Deck with a sanded finish and single fin box*

I've had Alex shape me two longboards in the past couple of years. We've had a number of conversations about surfboard design, waves, and how I like to surf, and those chats have led to some of the most rewarding boards I've ever ridden. The first was a 9'3 Fir with a couple of special requests, and a somewhat lighter glass job. It was super fun to surf, turning on a dime, really fun in faster, lined up waves, but excelled in small summer time surf as well. I replaced it with a 9'4 with a heavy volan glass job- I wanted something that I could travel with and not worry about. The 9'4 has just a little more glide with the added weight and length, but still comes alive in a hollow section.
